Cynthia Taylu

Cynthia Taylu

founder

I started Taylu at a time in my life when I felt the most alone. It wasn’t until I decided to embrace every part of me that Taylu came alive. Through this platform I’ve found a way of expressing my creativity, from writing, creative directing or producing, Taylu has enabled me to be unapologetically myself. I feel incredibly proud to have such powerful, innovative and though-provoking humans contributing to Taylu. Thank you to everyone who taken the time to read any of our articles or listen to our podcast.

Lots of love, Taylu. xx

Jennifer Spalding

Jennifer Spalding

artist

My name is Jennifer Spalding and I am the artist behind Raw Ink. As an emerging artist and maker, the creative process behind each work evolves differently, directed by my mood and emotions. Feelings such as confusion or anger play out through spray paint and acrylics as they dry faster and allows me to build layers quickly. When in a state of calm or understanding, I prefer to work with watercolours, forming my concept in a gentle manner. Digital works of a similar nature often help me translate these practices into online spaces and graphic design-based visions.

Hayley Clutterbuck

Hayley Clutterbuck

stylist

When some people think of fashion they picture the stereotype of shopping and overconsumption. However, fashion is so much more and it’s the perfect outlet to express who you are and allow people to have a voice.  I love the idea of telling a story or portraying current issues, such as cultural, social or even political, through clothes. I’m a visual person so creating images to express these messages has been a big part of my career as a stylist and has also allowed me to experiment more in my work.

Eugene

web developer

Coming from the design background, I decided to add some technical ability and focus on building slick interactive online experiences. I hate producing mediocre stuff so I try to make a candy out of even the most basic website.

I also noodle on guitar a lot and kick some ass in videogames from time to time.

Andy

visual artist

Freelance Visual Artist strongly influenced by the therapuedic properties of movement and patterns. I try to explore the way movement can interact with geometry and patterns in a 3D space. My goal is to capture a visual composition feeling both real but abstract by experimenting with things like perspective, dynamics and materials.

Dom

photographer

I’m a Gold Coast based photographer and filmmaker. As well as having an obsession with cameras, I like to pretend I know how to surd and watch my car go in and out of mechanics every week.

Kimi Teoh

Kimi Teoh

content creator

I never thought I had a creative bone in my body, but here I am today a QUT Creative Industries graduate – a creative, collaborating amongst other creatives sharing parallel passions for style, fashion and culture. My expertise in content creation for fashion and commercial works spans from styling to filming to content editing.

Hayden Shaw

Hayden Shaw

photographer

I’m Haydn, photography was something I stumbled into about a year ago, after finding the old family film camera. I enjoy swimming in a wetsuit, dad jokes and maxibons.

Gemma Watkins

photographer

Based in Melbourne, I practice photography as a form of creative expression, experimentation, and thorough enjoyment.

Using film as my primary medium, I aim to shoot raw, honest moments within my surroundings. Seeking out the subtleties in my environment, I focus on capturing moments that hold unique colours, textures and composition, rather than striving to get the ‘perfect’ shot. Travelling is a huge source of inspiration, as are my friends and other artists.

Kendyl Bailey

copywriter

Journalism and Business student at QUT. Reading enthusiast. Love to sing but can’t actually sing. Can talk underwater; will talk to you until you physically remove yourself from my clutches. Experience an existential crisis at least once a week. Huge fan of nibblies and drinks with the girls. Love to travel. Friends and family are everything.

Nick Sterkenburg

Nick Sterkenburg

photographer

Hi there! I’m a fashion and wedding photographer who has an obsession with capturing the way light paints the world. Few things motivate me more than taking pictures that make people stop for just a moment in this busy world of ours. I find inspiration in great design of all forms and am forever exploring what makes people tick to better understand my craft.

Georgia

photographer

I am currently working as an in house photographer with the hopes of becoming a freelance content creator, digital art director and sculptor. As I move towards finishing up my degree in advertising and fine arts I aim to meet more creatives and collaborate across different design fields.

Krystal McGregor

photographer

My name is Krystal McGregor and I like to think of myself as a ‘Creative’. I have studied photography specifically but I love all art forms and just creating things in general. I don’t want to put myself in a box. My favourite part about being a creative is the people I have met and the friendships I’ve made, and how creating art can be so therapeutic.

Chris

photographer

I am a young photographer interested in capturing people’s stories in intimate photos. With a background of growing up in Malaysia, it allows me to relate to individuals in a different way. Studying architecture and pursuing an interest in the arts provides a distinct perspective. Engaging with their stories in a unique way and bringing that aspect to my photos.
